Elders’ Meeting There will be an elders’ meeting tomorrow at 6 p.m. at Darrell Hudsons. This will be a meeting for only the elders.
Wednesday Evening There will be NO Wednesday evening fellowship meal or Bible study, or children’s classes this week, Nov. 26, because of Thanksgiving. See you next week.
Thanksgiving If you are in town Thanksgiving Day without family, you are invited to enjoy Thanksgiving dinner with the Bollingers and their other guests. Please see Janean if you would like to join them. Come after 3; dinner will be at 4 p.m.
Adult Christmas Party
Plans are being made for a lovely Christmas Party for our adults. Please set aside Saturday evening, Dec. 13, and make plans to enjoy dinner and fellowship during this wonderful season. More details will be coming.
Blessing the Avrits You’ll notice a big banner in the lobby, which you are strongly encouraged to sign. It will be sent to the Avrits, a part of our PLCF family serving as missionaries in Laos/Thailand. Even if you don’t know them, please sign the banner. It will be out today and next week before being sent to them as a Christmas blessing.
Sundays of Advent The next four Sundays Wade Jones will be leading us through the weeks of Advent.
Advent Meditation On Wednesday evening, Dec. 10, we will have a special time contemplating Christ in the season of Advent. Angela Hendry will be leading us in a prayer journey through the miraculous birth of Christ. Bring your pen and journal for this unique opportunity to pray through meditation questions, art projects, music, and personalized scripture. Let her know by Dec. 3 if you plan to participate. Ages 13 and up would be fine; just remember this is an important “contemplative" exercise.
Youth Worship Night The youth are again invited back to join the youth at Mt. View Baptist Church for an evening of fellowship and worship on Friday, Dec. 12. Rick Futch and his band will lead worship.
Christmas Cookie Swap Girls, ages 7-12, are invited to a cookie swap at the Hendrys’ home Friday, Dec. 12, from 6 - 8 p.m. Bring 4 dozen cookies (1 dozen to share and 3 to "swap") and some copies of the recipe. Each girl will go home with an assortment of Christmas cookies to share with the family. Angela will supply finger sandwiches and other refreshments. Please let her know by Dec. 7 if you plan to attend (773-5688).
Hospital Outreach The next hospital visitation will be Wednesday, Dec. 17, meeting at the church building at 5:30 p.m. This will allow us to use a night already “blocked out” instead of adding to busy calendars during the holidays. Dinner at 6 and classes at 7 will meet as usual.
Fund-Raising Sales Some of our young ladies are selling items in the lobby, and the proceeds are going to the Asian Pastors Children Fund. They have raised more than $70 so far. Thanks to all of you who are shopping!
Left-over Dishes Please claim your dishes from the kitchen.
Sunday Morning Prayer Each Sunday folks meet to pray from 9:15-9:50 a.m. in the big classroom. You are encouraged to join any time.
